You talk too much! That is what someone wrote too me. They said I needed more pictures as the content was to long. I certainly wasn’t surprised by this comment. After all it has been said that in the world of movie making you better have a BIG bang of some sort in the first five minutes to catch the audiences attention, or you will lose them. Well I have probably lost you already. Sorry about that!
Sadly that is what we have become. A microwave society. We want everything instantly. Instant food, instant pain relief, instant service when we are out and about. To have to sit and wait for anything puts some people into a rage. The question is ” what is the big hurry?” What is so important that we let our blood boil like it does? Why can’t we just relax?
Ah ha!!! that is the answer. We need to relax. We need to slow down. We need to savor the moment, and we need to appreciate the here and now. I really believe we have forgotten how to enjoy anything. We just make a mad dash from one thing to the next like a kid in a toy store.
Have you ever done anything, eaten a meal or raced across town, and suddenly realized you have no idea of what the food tasted like, or even noticed the beautiful scenery that you passed on your way? I have and it has surprised me. Shocked me really. I have found my impatience at the world around me disappointing. Why am I in such a hurry that I am missing out on my life’s experiences?
My suggestion for you and me is to slow down and savor the moment. Let’s all try to be mindful of what is occurring right now…Never mind tomorrow. Think about now. Enjoy the feelings and sensations present today. Go out and walk. Feel the pavement or grass under your feet. Take off your shoes. Wiggly your toes. Stretch all your limbs and reach for the sky.
What we have missed in our hurry to get there or do that, is the moment right in front of us. We don’t know the future so this could be our last moment, and in our hurry we could miss it.
If I was going to give you one piece of advise it would be to slow down and appreciate what is right in front of you now. Taste that bit of food. What are it’s flavors? Feel the cushion under your back, let the muscles relax, and most importantly enjoy the PEOPLE that are in that moment with you. Savor them as well. It might be your last moment together. Don’t waste it being in a hurry.
So for today have a great day. You deserve it. Oh and slow down as well. Don’t miss the next moment, it could be a real treat!
