So, do you talk to yourself? Of course you do. We all do. The greatest invention was the cell phone so that we can walk along and act like we are talking to someone, when in actuality we are talking to ourselves
Self talk is good for us. It helps us reason out our problems. It helps us let go of our anger because we can say anything we want because whoever we are angry at can’t hear us.
For me it is a way to discuss a situation with myself until I come up with a solution. I mumble a lot. It is not a sign of a disorder, it is a communication technique with myself.
Stress is the number one killer in our life. Well, not stress, but the diseases that attack our bodies when our immune system is depressed because of our reactions to the stress.
This is not a new concept. It has been around for years and years, There are hundreds of books in the books stores, if you still go there, I do, that can explain away this phenomenon.
There is good stress that motivates and stimulates us. We need it to move forward and accomplish things. It’s the bad stress that beats us down day after day with no relief. It is the ongoing worrying, The ongoing fear that we let consume us. It is the stuff that makes our life fly out of control. That is the kind of stress that leads to disease.
I know this because I have dealt with both sides of the stress pendulum. Now that I am older and wiser I realize that I am just a tiny dot in the world. One itsy bitsy speck, and if I stand still and take care of me for a moment the world will not stop but, I will come away feeling a whole lot better.
As I have said before, for me being outdoors in nature is the fastest way for me to move away from my stress. Just looking at the creatures running around, smelling the fresh grass, and feeling the breeze blowing past gives me that moment to let go. We are all part of this picture. We each are connected in our way to the earth.
When I see a deer standing in the brush or quietly walking along a path I have to stop and admire their beauty. As you may have read I love to take pictures so that is what I do. Oh, not great ones, I am not good enough for that, but I catch a good one every now and then.
Find something that you can do to let go of the bad stress in your life. Draw, listen music, go outdoors and smell the flowers, walk through the coffee shop and smell the beans. Do whatever appeals to you that will bring you to that place called peace.
When I relax and let go of my stress, I mean really let go, it is like floating on cloud. We don’t need to feel so bad, we don’t need to let others make us feel bad, we just need to let go of the stress, even for a short time, so that we can feel peaceful. It will kick start your immune system, and improve your mood. What more could you ask?
Have a great day..
