You will find that my passion is dogs, squirrels, and other wildlife. After the living creatures comes the other things in nature, and lastly is the world around us. So, to start with my first passion I wanted to show you one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever taken of our sweet Zoey.
She was a beauty who loved her grammy ( that being me) although in actuality she belonged to my son’s family. But as I said she loved me best. As you can see Zoey was a lovely pitbbull, and despite all the bad stuff you hear about this breed she was one of the most sweetest, affectionate, loving dogs you could ever have the pleasure of knowing.
With every visit she would bound up to the door and rush into the house to shower me with kisses and slobber. I loved the kisses, and didn’t mind the other. We were always so happy to see each other. My kids were jealous because she never acted that happy to see them when they came home. My daughter-in-law called her “grammies dog.”
Sadly we had to put Zoey down when she was only four years old. For those of you who have traveled that path it was awful.
Seizures are one of the health problems that can trouble this breed. Had we known before I don’t think it would have made a difference because we loved her as soon as she stepped into our lives.
I look at these pictures and gaze into those soulful eyes and I see wisdom. I see intelligence. And, I see one of the loveliest creatures that I ever came to love.
So, take time to look at the little creatures in your life. Appreciate their beauty. Appreciate their presence in your life. They can lift your spirit and warm your heart when you think there is no one in the world who cares. They really are man’s AND woman’s best friend.
